Does anyone know if divine smite works in wild shape?
I would really love to play a "holy bear" for my first playthrough, but it's a 2 level dip in both classes, no matter which one I start on, so a big investment to realize that it's not working laugh

Getting to 4th lvl is maybe 3 hours of play. So not that much of a waste.
Although TBH on first playthrough not likely smile
Nevertheless, unless you are an EA veteran, those 1st hours will be mostly about learning the game ...

I'd assume that Smite in Wild Shape does not work, but what do I know?

In table top it works. Smite isn't a spell, so you can use it without any restrictions other than a melee weapon attack. Most beasts have a 'natural' melee weapon and can smite.

Monk abilities like flurry of blows get a little more dicey since technically most beasts can't be unarmed nor wield monk weapons (Apes being the exception). I have no idea how Larian is going to handle that.

One of the teifling subraces has a smite attack too iirc.

I think those actually count as spells.

The wonderous world of distinction between "spells" and "spell-like abilities" smile
