On Edwin's page from the book whose pages I posted here (and which you claimed is not canon) there is information that has all been converted to BG3.
We know it's true because it's already been confirmed in the game. So it looks like the book is canon, at least for larian studio.

Ehm, that is news to me. Where was *that* of all things confirmed?

I can't find my copy of Minsc and Boos (and DM Guild is weird), but I do recall some stuff that does not really fit BG3, but I could misremember it.
There are some terrible ideas in it though.

When I say "book" I usually refer to the Baldurs Gate Trilogy of Novels, which are *very* hated.
Minsc and Boos Journal of Villany is merely disliked for some idiotic ideas, like Sarevok being a begger and later a Bhaalist.Or Bodhi being somehow alive *after being fully destroyed*. Or the entire needless connection between Irenicus&Bodhi and the Shadowfell.
