I am going to play the game, some time after launch, with friends and family and, as some of you suggested, yes, the hope is that I can enjoy it simply as a game and separate that from the other feelings I have. Fingers crossed; I'll do my best.
If I do drop back in again later, some time after launch when all has settled, to talk shop and discuss how things panned out, it will be because of the responses here, and this reaction, which I was truly not expecting. I feel more confident now in the way I phrased this message; I am simply stepping back for now, likely not leaving completely. Thank you all again, and maybe we'll chat again in the future.
