So I get that switching Characters mid conversation is too much work, but right now, There is a decent chance that multiple times in Act 1 alone, I'm finishing a fight and a conversation is initiated right away with a frontliner like Lae'zel instead of my Tav. I'm here to RP as my Character and this system robs me of the opportunity to do so in certain moments.

Is your main character at the top? That is to say, left side if screen, is your main the top most portrait. As long as it is, you really shouldnt be running into this problem.
