Yep, definitely petty, but hey, this I can accept because I'm too.

What I can't accept is you thinking you didn't lower yourself on my level but bringing WAR into this topic.

I'm frustrated because of extremely poor decisions of two companies, one I repeatedly give money to for games and one I have money to two years ago.
I since have bought the right to be pissed if something does not go my way. I have no right to personally attack or even harm anyone of the involved parties, but I didn't do that.

You sir bring politics and war into this. That's way lower. You're saying "your problems are not valid because of dead people". First of all, I sure as hell didn't cause their deaths and never would, second of all, a sensible human being wouldn't compare problems to each other, be they about world wide issues or personal things.

So I'm my opinion you've not only lowered yourself to my level, but really fell down so far I can't even see you anymore.

Feel free to dislike me all you want Mr 53 year old man, but don't you ever dare tell me again what's a problem and what not. Those are subjective terms.

In fairness, we're all getting the game at the same moment. Some of us just woke up a lot earlier.

Is the real issue that someone else will play the game before you or that you just can't wait to finally Play it and those few additional hours are just a torture?

Is it really that important to play it first? It's not like first 1000 or so players, that will finish the game, get a reward.

I bet its the mix of both plus. Its just not convenient to play games at night, thats all. I personally am envious of people who can play it in the more convenient time of day. But no big deal.

Still, at least once in my life i would like to see Europe go first, instead of tuning everything for America liking.

I truly feel for you. I am a upbeat person by nature. I want goodness for everyone. and weather your playing 6hrs before me or after me, we will be gaming soon. sure as hell is better than waiting for the 31st

I am too not ok with time release, especially if Steam or GOG won't give a pre-download.
P.S. Yes, I am crazy one, I have game in Steam and GOG.

Contrary to what the ranter assumes, Amerikan movies and the like HAVE opened earlier in other nonsense Amerikan countries. Amerikans survived, and Europeans will survive here too, though technically, you are getting it at the same time as everyone else.

I'm a nice person like 95% of the time, but even I have my limits. And I know I live a privileged enough live that my problems are quite luxurious to have. But that makes them still problems. Subjective ones, but problems.

This. I get the frustration of OP, but timezones are to blame here, not Steam. If you get to play on 10am in Germany, release date for US would be in the middle of the night. And you would still play at the same time.

What I hear, is your grouping hundreds of millions of people who live in America, and saying "Its our way and damned to the rest of the world"

I am puzzled at how this is effecting me, one thing Ive learned in my walk with spirituality is "No one can make us angry" and "No one can offend us" we choose to be angry and we choose to be offended.

Laughing at myself, as I have to learn over and over again the many lessons of my youth. I to hope for you Rag and old world brothers and sisters that you too will get a release date that is better suited for you, and I mean that.

If course I get what timezones are, I'm behaving childish right now, I'm not stupid But don't worry, I took no offense here, currently I'm trying to be ... less of an ass?

What I dislike isn't timezones, but that Steam expects the game to be launched at a time convenient for their offices, instead of, as most multinational companies do, having offices at least per continent.
Hell, I don't expect one per country.
This way releases could be at least in a matching timezone for the developers of a game. Which currently is just not the case.

Yeah I've ranted about Larian too and those points I still see as valid, but I still wish them all the best. Think about it that way. Steam forces them to work overtime, because Steam doesn't want them to release at Larians convenience but their own.
That is indeed Steams fault.

And once again, I think it'd be only fair if a game produced in Europe would launch there "first", meaning at a european convenient time and add timezones to that for all others. It's the other way around all time.

It's not meant to be though. It's just that american companies try to force THEIR way on the rest of the world all the time.

And I really just mean companies here, I don't want to talk about those other topics, really, let it go.

It's something I've seen more than once in my professional life, where I have to swallow my pride and just smile and wave. I have seen it more than once in my private life due to Steam and other companies, which simply can't seem to accept they are not the center of the world.

And honestly I'm sick of it. Especially since I'm quite™ sure (grain of salt, take it) that Steams contacts force companies like Larian to not release anything earlier on day GoG than they do on Steam.
At least I never saw a GoG release of a game happen earlier than the Steam release despite those guys being polish.



As to that other person asking if it's me wanting it before others or the agony of waiting: I'd have thought a midnight release per timezone would be much fairer. Wake up, download, play, be happy.

I said what i said ... if you want to see it as anything different, its your business not mine.

I, too, am from Germany and I don't really care tbh. I will have stuff to do on August 3rd and on August 4th I will be on a short vacation with family and friends, so I will probably download the game and pla Monday afternoon, when I'm back - fully aware, that you guys will spoiler me into oblivion
At least I can download in peace then, without millions of others downloading too.
