Judging by the icon this is a YouTuber I try to blacklist on every social media platform I find and thus would like to ask if we have this info from literally any other source? This one I wouldn't trust even to tell me the weather.
I don't have a high opinion of this YouTuber, but in Edwin's case, he quotes things from the book and shows a video from game that backs them up.
The only thing that matters is that video from the game, as I couldn't find it anywhere separately.
I am very doubtful that dialogue proofs ..anything. Aside from L. having different fame in different places?
Or it is a hint that he may have made a pact with someone or something.
I am rather unconvinced, though I will admit that I dislike the very idea. Edwin in the original was a megalomaniac who tended to try stuff way above his actual power. The thought that he could successfully stay low and live under such a guise is ..weird.
So yes, I am biased and that could blind me to it, but I really don't see it.
And I mean, a lot of stuff in that book is either random or straight up insulting to the characters. (Not Edwin though, that one I find only weird.)
