New to the BG series and Larian studio games.....

I know we can create our own unquie character but are we forced to use preexisting characters in the game to create our party?

Will we ever have the option to create our whole party or will this game allow mods that might be able to provide this feature?

Thanks

Theres a mercenary system that allows you to recruit atleast one of each class. But you probably shouldn't be abandoning the story companions.

A ton of the narrative is built around them and their story events will trigger even if you arnt actuvly using them

There is no official way to do it, but there is a work around.

You need to open multiple instances of the game and create a multiplayer game by yourself.

There will be plenty of tutorials detailing how to do this when the game launches and I don’t know if it will be any different from how it is now in Early Access, so I won’t bother with detailed introductions. Just look it up when the game launches and you’ll be fine. It’s pretty easy.

You can abandon the pre made characters, and still have a great time. I did it for DIS2. My gaming experience was 100x better. They aren't needed for fun. But, they are there fir an option.

By default, you can make 2 unique players by starting your game as splitscreen multiplayer. If you want to do all 4 characters, then you have to do a workaround and run 2 versions of the game.

You can change the classes of all the story characters though, so only do the multiplayer option if you really hate the companions you can get. Otherwise, just respec the ones you like into classes that you want on your team.

Its worth mentionimg that if you dont plan to make full custom party ... it may cause problems with your relationship progress.

Bcs game conciders characters created this way to be PC Avatars even if they are all controlled by single person.
And therefore your companion dialogues are sometimes overwritten by PC conversations.

Like i for example plan to make full Gith party ... i tryed workaround in EA for that ...
And in Druid Groove, after Lae'zel talk to Zoru ... instead of talking to Lae'zel about her integoration techniques ... my "PCs" talked together and completely forget about her (meaning i wasnt able to talk wirh her even after).

So ...
If you have simmilar plans, lets hope we will be able to change races of Hirelings.

I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown
