What is known about "respec" of Characters?
If laid out in plain language in some (mega) thread, please point it out (and page of discussion).

Basically the character is reset to level 0 and you get to rebuild that character back to his/her current level with any class/es and abilities you want. So let's say you start our as a barbarian but halfway through the game when you are already at level 6 you decide you'd rather be a wizard or a rogue...your character is reset to level 0 and you get to select a new class and level it back up to level 6 on the spot.

This will be done through an NPC that you can find early on in the game and will always be around your camp after for a cost of gold.

Does it involve attributes, or only skills, feats, spells?
Tav only, or other party members?
Origins?
Companions?
Hirelings?

It involves everything except your race and background. So any skills, feats, attributes, spell slots etc. that came from your class/es, subclass/es and level-ups all get erased when you respec. So if you start out as a wizard and at level 12 you respec into a barbarian you will not have any more spells or spell slots or any of that wizard stuff.

You can also respec companions including origin ones into different classes but that will not change their stories or cinematics where they will still behave and have cinematics for their original class.

I assume it includes tadpole powers respec but don't think anyway has stated this? We will know soon...

Actually...maybe not. Tadpole powers are an entirely different upgrade screen that is separate from your class and levels. So that might not be reset. We don't know about the tadpole powers yet.
