Ok, first i must admit this i kinda my own fault ... since in all 2+ years i never tryed this.
But today i decided to try something entirely different, and force Shadowheart to leave me, when i find out about her Shar worship ...

Imagine my surprise, when i returned to my camp, and she was sitting there like nothig happened!
And the only things i can say to her is apology?!

Is this normal behaviour, or some kind of bug?
Have anyone tryed, or even better managed to send her gone?

I mean ...
This is Astarion situation all over again, we are forced to accept whatever bullshit they stuff on us. :-/
For a game that is praised for its "huge amount of reactivity and permutations based on your decisions" ... we have really poor set of options here. Litteraly 1.

SH must be a unique case, since her artifact seems to be plot-essential. You may have to kill her or pickpocket the artifact and tell her off in order to be rid of her completely.

Maybe it was just not fully implemented in EA? I'm pretty sure, we will be able to send companions away, otherwise the dialogue options don't make sense.

I have the same thought. Every time I tried to ditch SH in my run she made it back in one way or another.

- I didn't free her on the nautiloid.
- I parted ways with her on the beach.
- I parted ways with her in the grove.
- She still appeared when I tried to go north from the three drinking goblins. She got killed and the artifacts changed its wielder.

Never tried to force her leave though. Hey Rag, can you try beating her until she has negative approval? Can this result into her leaving?

I had that with Astarion too, I sent him away after the bite scene and he overstayed his welcome. That's why I think, it was just not implemented yet.

Nobody knows ... hirelings were not part of EA.
Also, not relevant for this topic.

After i find out ...
I killed her in the camp, got the Artefact ... ressurected her ... still cant tell her to f* off. :-/
(Funny story ... as i killed her, robed her, and ressurected her ... she didnt care ... but when i asked Astarion to stay in camp, he attacked me and she helped us kill him.)

I dunno, seems just odd ...
I can send Astarion away, after i find out he is a Vampire! Message shows that he leaved the party permanently afterwards.

Unique case my ass ...
//Edit:
You dont have to invite her into your party in the first place ... the game should simply act as if you didnt.
edit//
I want to demand her to leave ... she may refuse, she may attack me, she may follow me secretly ... i dont care.
But when my character say that she should LEAVE i want her to LEAVE, not just move to my camp and chill there. :-/

Atempt two ...
Now i have artefact, but dont know she is Sharan.

Same result ... sending her away, only removes her from my party and send her to camp.

---

I must say this quite pisses me off. :-/
Bcs if anyone wish to experience game without Shadowheart behind their ass, they are forced to metagame and leave her on the beach ... where we have litteraly no *in character reason* to do so. :-/

Oh!

You naughty Wackus Bonkus.
What a good idea!

---

Sadly it dont work tho. frown
After second death, no matter how much ... oh!

I thought it no longer drop her reputation, but now i see it does!
As i ressurected her now, she told me she regret joining me ...

I shall continue, for science purposes!

//Edit!
IT WORKEEEED!
Best spend 2000g (for ressurecting) in whole Early Acess. xD

shadowheartdisapprove shadowheartdisapprove shadowheartdisapprove shadowheartdisapprove shadowheartdisapprove

She is finaly gone! laugh
Presumably for good, since i got the message "follower just left your party permanently".

Funny thing tho, since i have the artefact ... there is no reason for her to appear again.
I wonder what would happen if she would kept it. laugh

I didn't mention hirelings, was talking about camp followers into the party.

Anyway, sounds like a dead party member needs to be rez'zed to be removed from the party, and campsite companions can't be cast out unless certain scenes are done or reputation lowered sufficiently.

As a poor man's patch, you could sacrifice a companion to the Kua'toa.

I'd wait to see how it all works in the full release before getting so up in arms about it, personally.

Just so you know ...

I reloaded and down/help her again, even before i stolen the artefact.
This time i realized i dont even need to kill her, knock her into death saving throws was perfectly sufficient.

She left me ... permanently ... just as before.

And then, as i got into Goblin camp...
brand new outcome i have never seen before happened!
The Absolute completely overwhelmed my party ant they all ... passed out i gues? Not really sure, all narator said was that there is only darkness and silence. Then whole screen go dark.

Then i woke up in my camp.
Quick scene told me that now i possess Shadowheart artefact. O_o
And when i tryed to left it, or rest out ... i moved to cave camp for some reason ... it was impossible to get out in normal means, so i teleported to Blighted Village. And as i got to Goblin camp again, no cinematic happened, i run here as allways, just dont have "protected" buff from artefact, wich is still in my inventory.

Weird stuff huh? laugh
But it certainly made me a little more hopefull that fylimar was right, and this was just incomplete ... ^_^

I guess you managed to break the plot in spite of Larian's efforts...hopefully this won't happen in the final game but I'm sure people will try all they can to break the game.

I would still preffer option to just send her away ...
Killing her till she hates me was not exactly "paladin of Tyr" worthy activity.

Letting a suspiciously nice Sharan run around freely isn't exactly paladin of Tyr worthy either.

She either a brainwashed girl who needs help(most likely)

Or a master manipulator, which Tyr also hates

Kill her and do not revive her. Ideally on the Nautiloid or throw her into some chasm. No idea if the blue will-o'-the-wisp will haunt you then? evil

or

Just let the Goblins or Druids capture her, then she can rot in prison. wink

I think the way they handle companions in BG3 is not optimal. Basically, if you've met them and they're alive, they'll be in your camp. There is apparently no way for them to be in the world and alive, and not be in your camp.

Compare this with BG2. The Copper Coronet may be your base for practical reasons (most companions can go there and it's close to the next map border), but it's also just an inn so it's perfectly fine for NPCs to be there at any time without being in your group. So if a companion is indispensable for the plot, they could be placed there, kept alive but you'd still have nothing to do with them unless you wanted it or they approached you for some plot reason.

Maybe the full game will be different, we'll see. But so far this feels weird, as if you'll canonically always have all the companions. I personally like to have all the companions, but you should be able to get rid of them without killing them, as a rule.

As I said, since there is the dialogue option to send the companions away, I'm pretty sure the option will be in the finished game otherwise that dialogue option wouldn't make any sense.
