Er....I am reading here the original games are regarded as gritty? By whom? It would not have occurred to me to describe them that way.

They are adequately serious for their themes, with enough funny interludes to make the world feel real. As opposed to the typical Larian game, which, oddly enough, tends to overdose on both the horrific and the whimsical. I see that tendency in BG3 as well and hope it'll not be too dominant in the full game.

With regard to that old NPC, of all of them I could've done without this one returning. I may be finally annoyed enough out of world to get rid of him permanently in world every time.
