I want to make the first passage a party of shorties. I don't like it when, during pretentious dialogues, the rest of the party members look down on my halfling as a child. What do we have now? Three playable races of shorties. 10 NPC companions. Aaand none of them belong to these races. One or two would be quite enough. .. but my only option right now is a party of silent mercenaries. Why is that? Why don't you like shorties?
P.S. And I also didn't find a sling in the game. Slings are common weapons in the Forgotten Realms and racial for my halfling. BG3 should be a BG-series upgrade, not a downgrade.
Short races are more work for cinematic dialogue, and most players simply don't care about them. If you are doing a companion or orgin you want to appeal to as many people as possible.
How many dwarf ocs do you see out there compared to teiflings or dragonborns or even fauns, not many.
