One of the key features of a Champion is getting an additional fighting style at level 10.
However, Paladins and Rangers can get an extra fighting style much sooner by multiclassing a level 1 Fighter.
Champions can do that with a level 2 ranger or paladin but they would lose level 11 Extra attack.
So other than the 5% increased crit chance, the other key feature for a Champion of getting an additional fighting style, which was already pretty lackluster, is devalued even more.
Will Larian add more features for the Champion class?
