I recently bought Baldur's Gate 3 in Early Access. I play on Mac (which I know is not ideal for gaming, I bought it before I got into gaming) and was super excited when I saw BG3 was playable on Mac. Anyway, I am slightly confused about Macs having a different release to PC. I have heard/seen mixed information about the release. I am aware the Mac release is unknown as of yet however, I have also seem some people stating online that if the game was purchased through steam, this won't matter as steam doesn't distinguish between Mac and PC. I doubt this is true and quite frankly the logic doesn't make much sense to me. However, I did want confirmation: if I own BG3 on Mac, there is no way for me to play it August 3rd? Even if I own it on steam and have GeForceNow?
Steam does distinguish between Mac and PC. They even have seperate system requirements. It just doesn't distinguish for purposes of your actual Steam License.
Sadly the Mac release date has not been announced. They said it will be announced at a later date. It is probably that they have been focusing exclusively on the PC release and have had to push back the Mac one to get that to happen.
I own both types of computers and have a license for each, but I would prefer to play on my iMac since it's awesome and it actually runs a bit better.
