It's not a single player game, you are just playing it single player.
But yeah, you can bypass the launcher which others have pointed out.
The Launcher is actually quite useful though, not just for Multiplayer but for switching between different Larian games and managing your Multiplayer accounts, finding technical support, access to the forums for questions, disseminating news to players, getting access to the merch store, and providing feedback.
