I'm not even sure whether the quality of the film is relevant here, except insofar as if people didn't like it then they're less likely to want to see references to it in BG3. But for what it's worth, I just saw it a few days and thought it was good fun. Not perfect by any stretch, but enough to make me hope that the planned tie-in series by Paramount comes off.

About tie-ins more generally, I have my doubts. I think having lots of stuff like that up front can look like a cynical marketing ploy, as well as requiring more initial investment that increases financial risk if something doesn't sell as much as projected. I would hope that over time BG3 becomes more integrated into FR lore and other media, but think that's best for later rather than now assuming the game lands well and shows signs of longevity.
