1. Drow are not coded African in their appearance. They have straight, white hair and their skin is depicted ranging from shades of charcoal black to dark blue and purple.
2. There are surface elves whose appearances are coded to look African in the Forgotten Realms, and have been for some time.
3. The sorcerer from Honor Among Thieves was a half-elf.

Yep, I agree with all of this, especially number 1, as someone with black heritage myself, claiming that drow is black coded is about as offensive that whole orc debate.
