When you are NOT romancing a follower ... they start to kinda flirt with each other during your adventures, implying that there is something going on.

And that is all it takes really. laugh

It just makes our companions feels a little more "alive" and little less "please enter your interaction user". :-/
As if we didn't have them flirting with each other here in BG3 for whole act 1. I doubt they won't do it anymore. But that's just barely a romance.
And I played something that had 2 companions actively romancing each other. Mass effect 2. Yet It had same shallow type of romances from all Bioware games of last 2 decades. As soon as I flirted with Garrus he was forever locked from romancing Tali, even if I wouldn't go further with him. And my whole romance with him looked that exact way Larian said they want to avoid.
