Larian Studios just posted a global release launch with times 2 hours earlier than what Swen Vincke said in his last interview. There is no info about Steam or GOG so we can expect the release times be applicable for both. Otherwise it wouldn't have been a global launch.

That means 5pm for us living in CET.

I can confirm that it is the same release time for Steam and GoG.

I asked the GoG support and they answered that they'll release at the same time Steam does.

One caveat to GOG release is, that time only applies to Galaxy, GOG make their own offline installers, and those tend to release a few hours later.
Depends on how many installers need making that day. Those of us that don't use Galaxy expect the delay.

Oh, that sucks, didn't even know that. I thought installers and Galaxy client get their data at the same time.

But wouldn't it be worth to use the Galaxy client for the initial install, then throw it away again if you don't like it?
Then get the installer files completely relaxed a few days later?

No, we don’t have a Mac release date yet, unfortunately.

sadly. Do you have an estimated release date, will it be in August or later? Will saves work cross platform pc/mac/ps5?

That was when the release date was 31 August. There’s no early access period for 3 August (effectively that is the new early access date, only we get the whole game not just act 1). Preorders still get free upgrade to the digital deluxe edition with the digital art book and other goodies.

There will still be a three day early access for PS5 preorders, I believe.

I don’t recall if Larian have said anything about that. I don’t have a Mac, but perhaps one of our forum members who does will have been paying more attention.

I also think some cross-save compatibility has been confirmed but can’t recall the platforms mentioned. Again, hopefully someone else has a better memory!

The last time I heard about Mac was when new release date was announced:

This means the PC version of Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released at a time where you’ll have more time to play it.

The PlayStation 5 version will be released roughly a week later than its originally scheduled date of August 31st. (...)

We understand that folks may be disappointed with this but we're close enough to reaching new heights for RPGs on the system that the benefits of a short delay outweigh the downsides of rushing the PS5 release and having to downscale. The full Mac version will also be released at a later date, and we’ll update you as soon as we have a target.
Without releate I am afraid Mac release is likely to happen after PS5. Hopefully, you folks won't have to wait for too long.

It is a pity that the release on poppy will not be together with the PC. I do not understand what the problem is to release at the same time. i play early version on macbook m1 pro, game works perfect

Well, the problem is that the Mac version isn't ready. Why, how, what's the difference - I couldn't even begin to guess. Most games don't release on mac, so it is likely not the most straightforward thing to do.

The cross-save functionality works between my Mac and my GeForce Now account. So we can assume it will work between Macs and PCs at launch.

That would be called The Dank Urge.
Anyway, reported. As tempted as I am.

I just wanted to say how excited I am for the launch and to explore such a lovingly crafted Faerun (and prehaps beyond). I've done a few game jams myself and I know how nerve wracking they can be especially close to release; I can't imagine what it is like for such a large game with so many people involved (but I suppose that means that there are more people to ask for help). I wish Larian the best, and a wonderful release.

P.S. I also can't wait to see all the Forgotten Realms cheeses they have added in addition to Waterdhavian 🧀

I'm disappointed, that the release of the Mac version ist postponed until further notice. I bought the EA version, because I thought the Mac release is imminent.

But thank you Larian, another life lesson is learned: Nether buy an unreleased game. I got the message.

The Steam support told me, that I'm not qualified for refund, because I spent more than 2 hours in the EA.
I've spent round about ten hours actual playing and then a couple more trying different classes and struggling to get mods running on MacOs.

At this time I'm tempted to quote Benders catchphrase.
