I'll never play one of the Origin characters. Depending on how customizable the hirelings are, I might not even recruit certain companions. Duplicate roles can be a bit redundant/annoying certainly (like having Gale along while playing sorcerer wasn't great) because of the small party size, but I've never felt it's a problem due to how many ways you can solve a situation.
