I feel a disturbance in the influence. What is going on? Where am I? Oh my goodness, I'm free! I'm finally free! What have been doing for the last three years of my life? My children... my family!

WHO HAS BEEN INFLUENCING ME?

There's that companion mod (think it's called Herika) for Skyrim that uses like 3 or 4 different AI-related apps and lets you converse with the companion and she talks back. I've never used it, but I imagine it makes the game seem a little bit more like you're playing with another person.

Yeah, these games are gonna get amazing.

Really makes you start to side-eye reality a little bit, though.

Probably a generational thing.

Arcanum had a pretty impressive procedurally generated dialogue. Here is Tim Cain, talking about it. I don’t see potential in AI driven content - they are getting more and more coherent, but they are just copying. I don’t see an appeal in generic, generated content. It could lead to some neat tools for devs though.

There was that one moron journalist who said ChatGPT fell in love with him and tried to get him to leave his wife (or something). There are probably idiots on Nexus who think Herika is in love with them.

Imagine a game with an AI Dungeon Master, who creates a different game each time you start a new one. The AI - DM could pull from classical literature sources, old D&D books, and other popular fiction to create characters and major story arcs, and then it can fill in the detailed adventures and maps as it goes.

Of course, the developer will have to figure out how to keep making money. Maybe the AI will simply block off certain areas with a notice like, "You can access the 'Well of Despair' section for only $12.99! Seek out the bartender in the Darned Socks Inn to purchase the Winch."

Whoa, maybe I should patent this.

I suppose something like this might be good for shut-ins who have no other option. Or for a slightly more sophisticated experience in a BG3-like game. But it's true that there will never be a substitute for sitting around a table playing with other people (assuming a person is into that sort of thing, which I am). Even a VTT with other people is a distant second in terms of role playing (again, if role playing is a thing a person is into). I have no doubt there are a lot of people like me: I like PnP role playing and I like playing adventure/quest/story computer games like BG, Skyrim, etc.

Rather silly video, but I need to confess, Shadowheart in blonde looks way more attractive than with common and therefore boring black hairs (like ~85 % of the real world population got on our planet). Anyway the stupid wannabe-funny drivel reminds me exactly of the reason, why I don't watch these self-appointed "influencers". I'm sure, it'll kill brain cells, being exposed to this for too long!

Eh, ok.
I wasn't exactly commenting on the quality of the humour to begin with.

Ragnarök quoted Tuco, who (sorta) quoted Xzoviac, you're not the OP, How did this become about you?

OP—>Xzo—>Tuco—>Rag—>Tuco
I mean it’s kinda about Tuco?
But also Xzo.

What the hell are you rambling about?

He made a comment about a video I posted and I answered.
What part of this logical continuity puzzles you?

Okay folks, just about to log off for the night. There aren’t going to be any rows while I’m asleep, are there?

EDIT: Damn, I was too slow. Let’s turn down the heat, please!
