I'm trying to figure out how long it will take me to download the game. My wifi internet speed (which I'll be using to download the game) is registering at between 25 to 30 Mbps.
Does anyone know what that translates to in total time? I think the game is going to be 122 gig, right?
I was trying to look it up, but I'm getting confused by bits and bytes, and I'm not sure what Mbps stands for. I just tested mine and its considerably faster than yours. 237 Mbps it down loads EA in and around 40 minutes, I suspect your going to be hrs mate Curious, do you have a modem if so can you just (I call it hardwire) not sure what the proper term is. My son does that here with his playstation. He has wifi in it, seems to work better wiring it to the modem Im on 500mb so im guessing it will take me around 20min? If the steam servers dont die Anyone know is is 4pm bst tomorrow?

What's the difference between megabits and megabytes? One megabyte is equal to eight megabits, but the terms are used in specific ways: Megabits per second (mbps) are generally used to describe the speed of an Internet connection, whereas megabytes (MB) usually refer to the size of a file or storage space.
Holly Hell mate, 10 hrs
I hope it turns out DL faster for you. Yeah, it's weird because I have a 5g connection that's supposed to be a lot faster. But it might be a distance thing. I'm gonna test tomorrow. My house is three stories, and my desktop is on the top floor, so that might be the issue.

For some reason, it's limiting me to 30mbps, whereas every other device I have is much faster. It should be ten times as fast. I feel like some setting is capping it somehow, but I have no idea how. I've tried everything the internet suggested. I even reset my windows. What's worse is this is a new computer I bought fairly recently just to play BG3.

In networking, (xxx)bits per second are practically always used, because bit speed is what matters, and byte is... ambiguous. When network engineers do mean "byte", they usually say "octet". Yeah, it's weird because I have a 5g connection that's supposed to be a lot faster.

Won't try to diagnose it here on the forum, but if your new PC has wireless connection, at least try to bring it as close to the access point as you can. That's assuming there's no faulty / incompatible hardware or powerful source(s) of EMI close to (or even inside of) your PC.
