No, they actually did not say that. They cited Storm as an example for storm sorcery. Which is, well, super obvious and did not convey additional information about how this will play in the game.
It would be cool if there was some similarity, but Storm is a different order of magnitude so I wouldn't expect too much even if there is some similarity.
