Is the global launch time for our respective region the time when we can start downloading the game files or are we able to start downloading them a few hours sooner and then the game goes live at the launch time?

The launch time should be when the update is available to download. There is no preloading due, apparently, to the way Steam works.

But it was advised to uninstall the game after deleting our saves, so the update won't start until we hit install and we'll need to know if what we are installing is the retail game or the ea version.

If it's the sub-100 gb install, it's EA. If it is a 150 gb install, it's the full game.

Best to say if it is sub 100gb install it is probably ea and if it is a greater than 100gb install it is probably launch. Some people will take it literally and if it is not 150gb but rather 122 they may not think it is the launch version.

Best to say if its 63.4 GB it's EA.
