I tried BG3 in Early Access driven by the hype machine that the character customization was this be-all end-all marvel, but when trying the character creation, I found it so limited and shallow that I simply couldn't continue past it. Crossed my fingers, thinking after reading the headlines "In BG3 you can customize your character's genitalia ", and the trumpeteering of deleting BG3 Early Access, bc final release was an entirely different animal, including needing a larger Storage Space, that -hopefully- character creation would be revamped. Unfortunately, it's as triate and limited as Early Access. The "genitalia " was merely for controversy and meme posting. Aside from the 3-8 facial presets, 2 to 4 "body types" (2 for females and 2 for males, or for the miserable halflings... -half- the options), there's absolutely a lack of diversity and freedom.
That's exactly you guys took away from the players in this so-called Dungeons and Dragons game: freedom to tailor our characters, to incarnate a faithful representation of ourselves or the characters some that actually played DnD pencilled backstories for and probably commissioned some artist to draw.
Even for gags and controversy, your characters creation falls short. The most memorable thing to come out of your vacous character creation is Sad Orc over here
PLEASE spend a few minutes go explore Boss Factory to expand the horizons of your "character customization" and let it fly in hopefully a soon to be released patch.
By the way, what's with the vampire elf you guys have pasted in every piece of advertisement? Is he your David Bowie homage?

Such a bland character design with an overly complicated "background".
