I recently tried to venture into the cave below the Blighted Village (you have to use the well to get down there) and it's got a very tough fight inside. To better cope with it I decided to have my party all Hide, and then tool control of Astarion (who I've specced as an Assassin) to sneak up and sneak attack and surprise an enemy.
However, when initiative was rolled, while I got a surprise round, only Astarion was in the initiative order; the rest of my party just stood and watched as he got mercilessly curb stomped in front of them.
I hadn't split the party (in fact I'd very specifically grouped them back together after splitting them earlier without realising what I was doing), so this was definitely a bug with the others not being rolled into initiative. This differs from how I usually see D&D run which is to roll initiative for everyone, even if some player characters aren't aware of a combat, as it gives them a place to act when they are.
The game's pretty hard with four party members as it is, so it'd like to avoid being dropped down to just one again if I can. :p
Edit: Apologies for double-posting this thread, but something went wrong
with the other one, I think because I used an emoji? You guys really need to upgrade your forum software!
