Hi Larian. It's been a bit. Just wanted to provide you with some feedback about the Full Release.
I haven't gotten far, but I wanted to start this thread because I thought I'd provide you with some feedback as I play.
Initial impression is: I LOVE IT! Well done. I haven't gotten far, but it's great. Here are a few things I wanted to really thank you for:
1. TURN OFF NUDITY! Thank you so much! You have no idea how much it means to me that you listened to me and others like me who simply wanted this option. You didn't have to do it, but it means a lot that you did. Truly! Thank you.
2. I can still play it. I very much appreciate that too. I was afraid you'd be boosting the requirements beyond my PC's abilities and then I wouldn't be able to play the game. Thus far, I've been playing on High even, and Autodetect says Ultra. So, I'm quite pleased by this. Haven't gotten to some high rendering areas yet, of course, but still. Very happy about this.
3. Difficulty settings. Haven't tried the hardest yet, and I've heard it ain't Core 5e, but I might give it a try sometime. Still sounds interesting. It's nice to know I can always up the ante on this if I feel like I need to especially if I decide later to hack the game and increase party size to 6 or 8.
4. Cross Classing. I can now create my character the way I envisioned him. Thank you.
5. Camping Supply Auto Pack, putting most of my camping supplies in a single pack to clean up the clutter.
6. Key Chain. Same as 5 for keys.
7. Tool tips are way better.
8. I loved the changes to the Nautiloid, though I was a bit surprised that you cut out so much of it. No more thralls jumping off banisters and such. Interesting change. I can't say I miss all the old content, to be honest. There were some weird, glitchy cutscenes in the old Nautiloid scenes.
9. So many options to choose from in the game. LOVE IT!!!
10. Love the new clothing options. It's amazing how one little feature can make a huge difference. Now my Sorcerer/Ranger isn't running around in a robe the whole time. He's wearing exactly what I envisioned him wearing - Common Clothes that don't look stupid. And my human rogue, Fiovay, is wearing the dagger earrings, gloves, and just for fun, a battered witch's hat she found while exploring - because that's just the kind of whimsical person she is. She even got a new hairstyle which is similar to the old one but doesn't have the long braids - she loves the twin buns look. And then, Fiovay found a witch's hat. How appropriate! She loved wearing it, and then she got to play with dyes to color her outfit black with red sleeves. Vlynrifane's enjoying the blue on her Hide armor, boots and gloves. Great fun!
11. Love the flourishes in combat. Vlynrifane's twirling quarterstaff when she fights is fun, and when Fiovay does her Sneak Attack, leaps into the air and comes down with her daggers... It's beautiful. Of when she shoots at someone from far away, jumps into the air and fires... It is SO her character.
12. Wyll seems MUCH more likeable. I kinda didn't like him before, but he's more tamed down and serious. His story now has me intrigued as opposed to me feeling like I needed to drop him quickly before his devil mistress showed up and demanded that he kill me in my sleep. I mean, Aelun noticed the sending stone eye still, but that's the point. It wasn't obvious no matter what character you have. It took a dice roll to see if my character noticed that it was a sending stone, and even then there was no visions of Mizora popping in our minds, etc. giving it away. Nicely done. So far, I'm actually wanting to know Wy'll and find out more about his story, and I'm conflicted about what I'm going to do once I meet Karlach. Love it!
All in all, I'm super happy with what you've done. Thanks again for working so hard on this game. Great work!!!
