So, I got my Lae'zel, level 5, with Battle Master subclass, and two-handed sword, and she have pretty low hit chance (somewhere between 30-50% all the time), compared with my other characters. Can't hit anything sometimes, just swinging her sword around and taking hits. I'm not very experienced dnd player, and I didn't see much level options, that could improve it, so I wonder if its normal or not, and if I messed up her build somewhere. Maybe I should've get her strength higher or something? Its on 17 right now. Or maybe there will be some kind of passive that could help? Or should I've take different subclass for a higher hit chance?
Strentgth could be an issue as that is the modifier that applies to most weapons the fighter will be using. What is her Strength? Also if you took the Great Weapon Master feat with her make sure you don't just leave it always enabled because that is a source of -5 to attack. Also make sure she is not wearing any armor she isn't proficient with as that would give her disadvantage on attacks.
