I had basically no relationship with Shadowheart, she was never in my party. I didn't even know I was supposed to be bringing her along during the trials (not that I would've agreed to help her become a Dark Justiciar in the first place). I just wanted to free a prisoner, my druid is all about freedom and junk.
On a future run, I'll probably pay more attention to Shadowheart and try to redeem her. I have a feeling she won't survive most of my runs, though.
