The request to save/export characters was one made a number of times in early access, though of course it's totally valid to request it again now that it seems we don't have this functionality in full release.
The request for a fully custom party is also one many players have requested, but we have separate threads discussing that such as the one at

I've updated the title of this thread to specifically refer to saving created characters to hopefully help focus this discussion on that topic where it doesn't overlap with other threads.
