Most annoyingly, being lucky or unlucky with initiative can make the difference between an easy win and a game over. So is there anything - equipment or consumable - that boosts initiative?
I'm writing this after a fight that went like this: before any of my characters had a chance to do anything, two of them had dropped their weapons, one was running away from her dropped weapon in panic due to some spell, and a third one was at 3hp of 40. After the second round my sorcerer and Astarion were down and all eight enemies were still active. In the second attempt at this fight, I got a fireball in first and Lae'zel went first after that, which means the fear-inducing enemies were gone and the other party members could focus on the others. The fight still wasn't exactly easy but we won without anyone going down.
So, initiative. Super-important. How do I get it up? Apart from DEX, I know that part.
