There was a bug in early access which locked you out of race options and made people not recognise you as a githyanki. There seem to be various problems with tags in the full release, so your game is possibly broken
Other problems people are having right now:
- chased by an insane Gale who firmly believes you're an item, despite continuously breaking up with him and never starting a romance
- game files completely corrupted upon entering cursed land
- all companions deciding they're romanced AND breaking up with you, on the same day.
