I think we'll need to wait and see. I imagine that Larian will be working on BG3 bugfixes for a while yet, and they've said they have no plans for expansions or DLC, but that doesn't stop us asking for it and you never know!
This is a HORRIBLE PLAN.
Continuous mods breed REPLAYABILITY, and bring continuous profits and BUILDS THE BRAND. To just MAKE IT and SHAKE IT OFF to do some other project is leaving MILLIONS on the table and walking away.
