I recommend checking all the tips that the larian support gives.
For me, with the direct start of the DX exe out of the bin folder, with the proper settings, it made the game way more stable.
It still crashes some time or the other, mostly in dialogues, but with enough savegames, I can still enjoy.
Without any settings, i had just crashes every 10 min. So if your graphics card is not the best or near the minimum requirements, I recommend to shut down all other programs running in the background, lower graphics and try the Win7 compatibility mode and stuff.
