I am having a bit of remorse over the looks on my character, but it's in a multiplayer game with my best friend, so just 'remaking it' isn't the best option.

This and the not able to leave your multiplayer buddy back at camp (or even kick them out entirely) are some really game breaking issues for me at this point.

I literally restarted my half-drow Bard three times, because the skin tone looked completely different in CC then it does in game...

Yup, a magical mirror or item similar to the one in Divinity Original Sin 2 that allows us to change basic bodily features is absolutely a must, as it sucks spending almost an hour in Character Creation menu only to find the colors are mismatched after the Nautiloid in actual gameplay grin

Plus it would add more layers into roleplay being able to change lets say the hair. Start with a messy haired character and then get the hair done nicely once we're at the camp.

This seems like such a basic feature at this point I'm pretty surprised this isn't already in the game. Hopefully will be patched in sometime soon.

Definitely need to have this as an option. Starting over to alter customization of basic appearance is much needed.

I am voting for Ilyn Toth's Ornate Mirror for our camp with some funny banters with Withers!

Oh yes, that poor mirror needs a new job desperately

Yeah, this is *such* a miss. To be frank, I fully expected this to be in there. And, even if you don't want me to change everything, just let me change my hair and makeup or something.

Especially for the hirelings, too. I mean, if you make them soulless husks, then let me spec them from the beginning.

Fear my wrath, for it is great indeed.

I need to get rid of the hairstyle I got, I do not understand why I picked it, I think I'd been temporarily possessed by my 8-year-old self or something. Send help.

I think the biggest challenge about appearance edit is how Larian would program it to interact with in-game effect that also alter your character's appearance. I'm guessing that if it is not a straightforward feature to implement it'll be because they need to design the system in such a way that you edit your character's base appearance but then still allow it to get overwritten by all the other effects such as dirt, blood,
Volo's eye
,
tadpole abuse face changes
, etc...

they've already cracked the code! the magic mirror in DoS II does exactly this. it's also a pretty common feature in modern rpgs so I can't see it being a tech issue.

It's not just Magic Mirror we need, but also option to alter appearance of our armor\weapons, sort of Wardrobe \ Transmog or enchanter serice to swap item stats.

I'm a bit surprised that this game don't have such an important features...

How did it work? Was it an item you could find or was it fixed to a single position (in camp)?

I’d be fine if it was just an option that Withers offered… as long as it doesn’t cost gold!

Not only that, but when provided with the option to "respec" Shadowheart or Astarion, I assumed I would also be able to choose another cantrip instead of the default, rather bland standard option of Fire Bolt.

Astarion should at the very least have had "Minor Illusion" as a cantrip, which is probably the most logical choice for a Rogue.

And I'm inclined to state that Shadowheart should have started out with something like Shocking Grasp, considering it's almost a no-brainer to give her the War Caster feat, synergizing with Shocking Grasp.

The fact that we can't change this is such a disappointment.

thats exactly my thought and the reason why i registered here.

Dear Larian. There are many good reasons to decline us the alteration of our avatars during game. from a realistic perspective. it shouldnt be possible to change the shape of the own face.

But!

same coin: due to REALISM: i can adjust my hairstyle EVERY DAY in real life. or the make-up.

So please, add this functionality to the camp !
my Elf is a pretty vain girl and likes to wear different hairstyles depending on the weather, dungeon or next boss wink

Thank you very much !

I agree to a degree. I'm not sure I'm in favor of complete character re-customization, but stuff like makeup and hairstyles should absolutely be changeable.

Just registered to upvote this. Being able to change your appearance when you have a customizable main character is a must. Regarding realism or immersion, you get kidnapped by tentacle-headed monsters, get a worm shoved into your eye, literally go to hell and fight devils, then fall from the sky and are saved at the last second by an unknown magical force. This ain't Game of Thrones, this world is overflowing with magic! Heck, Withers can completely change your class, which if you think about it would be like completely changing your past so that you have different skills. Why not give him the ability to change your looks too. Maybe it can cost a soul coin?

Anyway, please, please, PLEEEZ, give us appearance respec!
Thanks.
