Bugs should be reported to Larian on their support site. The Report a Bug link on the launcher will take you to the right place.
Here's a good place to check if other players are having the same problem or have found a workaround, and in general separate threads are easier to manage and to find later, so that is fine. But please err on the side of caution and pop anything that might be spoilery in tags, which I've added above, as well as removed from the thread title.
Regarding the hideout,
did any of your characters have a torch out? Who was in your party? I've never seen Karlach set things on fire, but given she looks like she's burning sometimes I wouldn't rule it out. I didn't have any problems in the hideout, and made no special effort to avoid the oil.
