I was wondering if anyone else has been having trouble getting the owlbear cub to transition from the cave to the goblin camp. I've tried everything from long resting to doing the chicken chasing game to killing the chicken itself and then long resting to see if I could get it to spawn with no luck.
Order of events: 1. Entered owlbear nest 2. Succeeded on peaceful dialog with owlbear mother 3. Accidentally aggroed as she becomes hostile when traversing the ledges above 4. After combat, spared owlbear cub and it began to eat mom. 5. Went to goblin camp, goblins are chasing chicken. 6. Long rested, still no cub. Continued adventuring as I assumed it would show up eventually
Many long rests and levels later, including revisiting the cave just to check, the cub remains in the cave eating its mother. On the Steam forums, I've seen some people having the same problem saying it was caused by having peaceful dialog then attacking the owlbear mom anyways causes the owlbear cub to bug out. I was wondering if this is intended or if anyone has a workaround or an idea to get it to move, as I've adventured far past that point and don't want to revert my save.

I've added spoiler tags to your text as there are many new people now playing the game for whom even early access content might be spoilery. In my playthrough, I also have no cub but my problem is different as I didn't kill the mother (successfully roared at her) and the cub was at the goblin camp. I persuaded them to let it go, and dealt with the goblin leaders, but it's now about three or four nights later and still no cub, and I'm about to head to Grymforge. I didn't kill the goblins out in the courtyard after the leaders as I escaped through the Underdark, but I don't think that made any difference in EA.

You have to kill the goblins in the courtyard or else the cub won't appear, if you use Speak with Animals on him, it tells you, that it can't leave, while there are still enemies. It can take some night, until appears though. Last playthrough in EA it appeared for me only after at least 6 longrests.

Aha! I have my pet ... I'd persuaded the goblin in the courtyard to let the cub go, and hadn't gone back to the courtyard to kill the goblins there after killing the leaders, though I had poisoned their beer before going in.
The owlbear cub eventually caught up to me in Grymforge after about 6 long rests as fylimar suggested.

Problem described by TS still actual after patch 2
UPD: Did a few experiments. It turned out that if you do as described by The Red Queen, roaring on owlbear mother, everything turns out literally after one long rest. Everything works correctly. Around the corpses of goblins, and the cub is stolen and then will be in the goblin camp. However, if you choose the option to use the speak animal potion, and then ask about the fragment of the spear and choose the ranger's answer that he made a mistake and did not want to disturb in order to solve the matter peacefully, the trigger breaks. And it doesn't matter whether you provoke the mother to fight later or not, the goblins will never come into the cave and steal the cub. Or a pair will forever remain in the cave. Or the cub will endlessly eating his mother. It turns out that this branch is bugged.
