In Whispering Depth, there are cocoons hung on walls. I can shoot & break them to release some items inside... but since Full Release, some of those items actually get stuck at their original location - high on walls/ceiling, and unreachable.

Is there a way to still get them or they'll stay there forever as wall/ceiling decorations? I tried shooting them with fire bolt/bows/xbows in hope of knocking them loose to no avail.

You can bring along some crates (in your inventory) and place them on the ground near the object, then right click on the crate and choose "Climb on object" or something like that. Sometimes you can reach it that way.
I haven't tried it but maybe the mage spell "Mage hand" might do the trick as well?

Thank you for the idea of bringing crates! Yeah, I know I can Climb with right-click, but never thought of this idea! I'll try it out and let you know.
I tried Mage hand, didn't work thou... then again not 100% sure since I never seem to get Mage hand to do what I need... therefore I find it quite useless... so I may be missing something.

I always have a barrel or two of water and oil or some other explosive material.

Yay! The crate trick worked for 1 of the items hanging high by spider web, however another one just got stucked like crazy glued, I can reach it but can't move it.
BTW, to Tourist McGee, the trick only works with crates (cubic or retangle ones) since they are the ones which have the "Climb On" option when you right-click them. The round barrels can be stacked, but you can't climb on them.
