It is overdone. Beeing just normally nice to get approval of your companions always leads down the romance part. Ofc in RL ppl fall in love for even less sometimes but this feels overdone.
I actually took a break from the game when that mind flayer, sat down next to me half naked and wanted to go down that road...even tohugh it was remotely funny.

I immediately just chose: "I'd like a dreamless sleep for once" and shut that down hard lol
