I'm in the middle of Act 2 and I'm looking for some interesting stuff to buy. The gold has been accumulating, but there appear to be few traders who sell anything worthwhile. I haven't been to Moonrise since I don't want to end the Act prematurely by accident, but I think I have seen most other locations where traders might reside. The last items I bought, I think, were a piece of armor from the trader in the Mountain Pass area, and a purple short sword and a purple dagger for Astarion, I think the quartermistress at the inn had it. Apart from Moonrise, I haven't seen everything of the abandoned town in the Southwest, but it isn't the kind of location where traders might reside. I also have not seen any aboveground areas in Act 2 except the Shadow-Cursed Lands and the Mountain pass, should there be any.

So, is there any other trader I might have overlooked?

By Mountain Pass do you mean the Gith quartermaster? AFAIK that is the only one on that map. In Shadow Cursed lands, there are two at Last Light, Quartermaster and Tiefling smith. Agree not a lot to spend money on so far...I also have about 15K and have started storing it in camp because it weighs so much.

How have you gotten so much money? I'm at the end of act 2 and only have about 3000 gold.

Simple. I have picked up more or less everything and bartered it for stuff I wanted first, then sold the rest for gold. Enemy armors are heavy but if everyone is loaded you can still send the rest to your camp and sell it later. Also, traders get new money every once in a while.

No, I meant the quartermaster at Last Light. The gith one is dead.

Oh, don't worry. Exactly like in the old BG games, there will be vendors who have special items worth alone more than all the gold you currently own.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

Yep, the 3000+ gold items are coming, no worries. Although, you'll never NEED to use the gold, so if you're wanting the game to have a gold sink like an mmo or something, you're out of luck. The game is designed to not need any gold really.

I arrived at moonrise towers with around 20k gold and that's the first place I saw something I wanted to spend it on. Spent around 10k gold right there so there will be stuff you like eventually. You can always also buy stuff for a different character build in case you feel like rerolling your character at whiskers. I havent sold a single magical item so far just to have several builds open and because you get enough money anyways, so far atleast.
