Hi, thought I ask here as it seems like the place where the most reasonable discussions go on. Did a quick search, some people get freezing but I don't know if this is quite the same thing?

So in a nutshell, game runs super smooth on start up. In what ever area I start in.

As I play the gamethe frame rate gradually drops, eventually becoming a slide show. I think it may be linked to new areas loading in and old ones not unloading? The end of act Ii was particularly bad as there was quite a few different areas in rapid succession. At the moment I'm just saving and restarting to fix it, but I don't think this is how it's supposed to be.

Settings are
Borderless windows
Vsync off
The fidelity is whatever the game started with, haven't messed with any texture, shadows, dlss or anything of that nature.

2060super gpu
I5-12600k
32gb ram
Ssd

Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming you're using Windows, what version are you on? I had issues with extreme drops in framerates with Windows 11 running the game in DX 11 during EA, which I eventually tracked down to a problem with Windows 11 HDR and disabling it solved the problem.

If it's not that, then does swapping between Vulkan and DX11 help, or reducing the graphics settings?

I have the same issue. I'm running with DX11 (Vulkan just doesn't work with HDR) and I get smooth framerates for a while and then it just falls off a cliff. It isn't the environment as I can save in a spot with bad framerate, close the game, relaunch it and reload which results in smooth framerates.

Im on windows 10. Never had the issue in early access in about 100 hours of gameplay. Exactly the same hardware, only thing different is I updated the nvidia drivers before full release as recommended by the prelaunch post.

Have extra settings or graphical features been added between ea and full release? Just seems odd that each ranuch better.

Yep, exactly this. Had the issue in the goblin camp whilst fighting everyone outside. Thought it could of been due to lots of characters on screen. Remembered it wasn't this choppy in ea. Save, exit, reload, smooth as butter.

I was getting this issue, exactly as described:

OS: Windows 10 (10.0.0) 64bit
CPU: 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11600K @ 3.90GHz (12) System RAM: 32635
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 GPU RAM: 10067

Was using DX11, switched to Vulkan and issue 100% resolved
