I've been wondering why the I can no longer use the open hand trading icon (as in your first image) to trade with non-vendors. I also had the same thing with Okata - after receiving the bowl of soup at the first meeting I could no longer talk to her afterwards and she says "you have had your share" and the dialogue ends there.
