Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems Crash on save when going from act 2 to mountain pass and back

I got to act 2 through the underdark and went to the last light inn. However, I also wanted to see the mountain pass route, so I went back to act 1 (luckily I saved right before I did that) and went to the mountain pass. After a while I went back to the last light inn - only to discover that now whenever I try to save, the game immediately crashes to desktop. I can easily reproduce the bug with my current save file, all I have to do is go to the mountain pass (doesn't matter from which side I enter it) and then back to the shadowlands and it is no longer possible to save the game (meaning, the game will always crash when I try it manually or it autosaves). I'm sad, cause I liked the development of the story there, but I guess I'll have to do without it now

i have a similiar situation but since it would be spoiler for act 3 for the OP i'll put it into spoiler:
- dropping or sending to camp all my inventory (keys,food and gold included)
- checking for dead npc with still HP left - tried moving the save file on 3 different pc with different option configurations and with either windows 10 or 11
- checking stash and inventory for any corrupted item like an another user suggested with some bottle of wine having the name <NOT FOUND>
- playing offline and without cloud sync
- deleting levelcache
- checking game files
nothing seems to work and i'm already 100 hours into the game and near the end of the game, so i have to choose between ignoring that specific quest, do it and rush to the end of the game without saving or wait for a fix.
I can try posting the save file if it is of any help

I have the - pretty much - same exact problem.

Lae'zel was pestering me about leaving if I didn't investigate the creche after getting to the Towers. So, I relented, did everything I could find there except a certain quest for an egg.
After grabbing the Uber Mace of Uberness I went to return to the Gauntlet and now I get a crash when I save. I can load the save prior to returning to the Shadows and it doesn't crash on save, but any saving after returning... crash crash crash.

Tried with the new update (patch 5) and still nothing.
I sent my savefile to Larian together with the crash dump hoping for a solution or that they can at least prevent it from happening.
Wouldn't want to having no option but to delete a 100 hours playthrough especially when i was so near completing it.
