More companions with you would be great. Not just for combat but for story purposes also. I always feel awkward picking up one party member to go talk to just one npc and then going and dropping them back off for another. Four would be more my thing, 3 for story and 1 you just always want to be there, but five could be fun for multiplayer or if you wanted one of those guys you hire in there too.
