If you like the idea of using magic to go invisible and sneak attack, you might consider dipping into warlock and take the 'devil's sight' eldritch invocation. Take darkness as one of your spells (or better yet have one of the party members cast it then get away, so you can use hex for more damage). You'll be immune to blindness, while having advantage against every enemy inside the darkness radius, which guarantees a sneak attack every turn. Enemies will of course try to walk around/get out of darkness, so you'll need to position it well according to the environment, kite them, or simply hide the entire party inside of it (you can always step out of it, attack or cast a spell, then get back inside).
Another thing to keep in mind with this trick is that darkness blocks any attack action, but not throwing actions, so some enemies will try to break your concentration by throwing stuff at you.
