I equipped Karlach with clothing I found (think is called mighty clothing) and it gives her a +2 to strength. Combine that with her dex bonus and con bonus to armor and add in bracers of defense she has 17 ac and 20 strength for me and is a force especially if given a +2 armor buff and raging.
