The masked people CAN be saved, as I've done so a few days ago by sneaking past them and letting Ethel summon them during the fight.
Yeah, right now this is the only way
Its weird you cant save them by killing Ethel before meeting them though (they made it a lot harder to kill her this way, but not impossible, so thats probably why this bug wasnt detected)
