Right now I'm in act 2 in underdark, but I just discovered that from there you can also reach Mountain Pass, so is it possible to do both maps? It would kinda feel wrong to leave one out, because of all the XP and questlines.

Yes, you can. You should do it especially if you imply to not have been in the cloister/Gith creche yet. You will appreciate the xp. I was lvl 6 at the end of the Underdark (although I lost some content by the "Grymforge NPCs are gone" bug (?)), and lvl 7 at the end of the cloister/creche content. Nice to have in the shadowcursed lands.

To split hairs, technically the Underdark is part of Act 1, I presume, as it was available in the EA.

So is it save to finish everything in the underdark (shadowlands) before going to moonrise tower and then to mountain pass and then do moonrise tower? Or should I go to mountain pass immediately and then continue in the underdark? So confusing

Right now I am going for moonrise towers quests and beating Ketheric, then I want to go to the creche. I hope it is possible because I want to do both in order to open up opportunities for later.

Once you pass through a certain pool in the "Find the Nightsong" quest, you won't be able to access the creché or other act 1 locations anymore. This locks you out of several quests as well, so be careful.
