I'm currently playing a local coop, but with no dynamic splitscren, I'm wondering if it would be a better idea to have the second player use separate machine. Before i rearrange my living room, I'd like to find out if its worth it and clean up several things.

My main focus is for both players to never lose any piece of the game content, just like they won't on splitscreen.

* how do we solve separate audio feeds? Can I mute one of the PCs, remember to always join the other player's conversations and we'll be good?

* can I go back-and-forth between those two playstyles using the same save?

* can one player use controller and the other mouse&keyboard?

* do mods work in LAN?

* are there any other issues that I'll face and I am not aware of?

Hello
As Shalak, I would like to talk to you about le locol multiplayer of Baldur's Gate 3, the "couch-coop" or splitscreen. I wish a hotfix is on its way to improve it...
I am a very very big fan of the Divinity Original Sin serie, cumulating more of 600 hours of play with 450h only to Divinity 2, all in couch coop. Best times ever ^^

I mean, you almost touch the perfection when it comes to couch coop for a game like this so i do not understand what have you done here ? Why go backward when it work ?

- No screen fuse when near - Forced splitscreen. Makes you miss stuff ans the scenery's beauty.
- Very poor camera mouvements .
- Not friendly user ability wheels mecanic in its current state.

It's sad to say but the pleasure of playing BG3 in couch coop is not even near of the one we had playing the Divinity serie...
Don't mind the negativity here, i swear it's only to be put in good use, your game has already a lot to offert and i also play it solo, i can tell, your game is truly GREAT wink
Just want to enjoy it in couch coop too..!

I really miss the dynamic split screen from Divinity OS 1 and 2. Having the single screen during combat and when close together makes it easier to see what's going on (and enjoy the game art) and also encourages the party to stick together. It's also way easier to see what's going on in combat.

I get that having it would probably mean that players couldn't take simulations goes when they have the same initiative, but we wait for each other anyway because you want to see the effects of the first attack before deciding what to do with the second.

I'm really hoping that Larian add the dynamic split screen in a patch because the couch co-op was one of the killer features in Divinity OS. Being able to sit on the couch with my wife and play a co-op game is such a nice experience compared to both being sat at different desks.

all players need the same build of the game ... this includes any mods
all players remain in the game even if they leave, so if pal number 2 has to go home you can keep playing while he stands there or start a new game

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you failed.
