At some point late in Act 2 all Act 1 locations are blocked, as in you literally can no longer travel to them. So if you want to do Mountain Pass/Gith Creche you have to do it before then. Knowing what I know now I would do Mountain Pass then Underdark. Underdark is way longer and more of a slog. I was level 7 when I started Act 2, doing both areas first.
