So, we made our way to the quest marker . Is this a (known) bug?

There's no bug as far as I'm aware. The crevice was there in my playthrough, though that was an earlier patch.

I just did this yesterday or the day before. Anyway I commented about the crevice or whatever I said. It was related to Kagha. But I had to look closer or maybe move around a bit before I was able to interact with it.

You have to get really close to the quest marker before it shows up as interactable.

I did it in the past day or two and it is there. Maybe make sure all your party members move past the place or cast Guidance on your high Perception character?

Thank you people, and thank you, Your Red Highness, for adding the spoiler tag. It turns out it was a false alarm. When I switched to my other playthrough, I noticed my key for highlighting items did no longer function. Then I recalled having to do all my key mappings again (I have my mouse on the left side of the keyboard) after the latest patch. And sure enough: I missed remapping the key for highlighting items. So when I pressed the key I was used to and nothing showed up, I assumed there was nothing to highlight.

So, I am relieved to be able to play on. Thanks again for the help!
